1. Living in Germany permits me to drive to my church service 160 km per hour = 99,5 miles per hour 2. The German social 'bubble' is much smaller than the American one 3. The Germans have the best GELATO outside of Italy because our first immigrant workers came from Italy. A lot of Italians still live here in germany with their families! Molto bene!! 4. Germany is famous for fantastic bread and Broetchen!!! 5. When Americans say: "Hi, how are you?"..they only mean HI. When Germans ask you: "How are you?", they await a detailed answer (at least a lot of them) 6. We have the same color changes in the fall as in the States: beautiful sun yello and fire red..... 7. Driving on German streets is so much different for there is much less space...; the definition of 'street' seems to be different (grin).to be continued!!!
BEYOND MEASURE
"OUR DEEPEST IS NOT THAT WE ARE INADEQUATE.
OUR DEEPEST FEAR IS THAT WE ARE POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE. IT IS OUR LIGHT, NOT OUR DARKNESS, THAT MOST FRIGHTENS US.
WE ASK OURSELVES: WHO AM I TO BE BRILLIANT, GORGEOUS, TALENTED, FABULOUS? ACTUALLY, WHO ARE YOU NOT TO BE?
YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD. YOUR PLAYING SMALL DOES NOT SERVE THE WORLD.THERE IS NOTHING ENLIGHTENED ABOUT SHRINKING SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE WON'T FEEL INSECURE AROUND YOU. WE ARE ALL MEANT TO SHINE, AS CHILDREN DO.
WE WERE BORN TO MAKE MANIFEST THE GLORY OF GOD IN US. IT'S NOT JUST SOME OF US. IT'S IN EVERYONE.
AND AS WE LET OUR LIGHT SHINE, WE UNCONSCIOUSLY GIVE OTHER PEOPLE PERMISSION TO DO THE SAME. AS WE ARE LIBERATED FROM OUR OWN FEAR, OUR PRESENCE AUTOMATICALLY LIBERATES OTHERS"
(Marianne Williamson - and quoted by Nelson Mandela 1994 at his inauguration!
